Key responsibilities
ABB Motion High Power is seeking a talented student (internship and/or master thesis) to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the impact of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and its planned extensions on our products and business processes. This is a unique opportunity to work on a strategically important regulatory challenge at the intersection of policy, business, and technology.

You will be mainly accountable for:
Conduct in-depth research on EU CBAM regulations, current framework, and planned extensions
Assess the impact of CBAM on MOHP product portfolio and business processes
Analyze supply chain vulnerabilities and carbon footprint exposure
Quantify financial implications (costs, pricing impacts, margin effects)
Develop a comprehensive impact assessment report with clear findings and recommendations
Create a prioritized roadmap of actions for MOHP to achieve compliance and competitive advantage
Produce educational and training materials for business leaders and product man
Document findings, methodology, and insights for organizational knowledge
Qualifications for the role
Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Business Economics, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Public Policy, Political Science, European Studies, or a similar field with a focus on the business and technology interface
Understanding of business processes, including supply chain, production, and procurement
Electrical engineering knowledge is a plus (e.g., electric motors, power converters)
Fluent in English; German is a plus
Strong communication skills
Openness to engage with subject matter experts
Translational thinking
Ability to structure and condense information
Presentation skills
