Description of Work

A Leave of Absence Supervisor oversees the administration, coordination, and compliance of employee leave programs within an organization. This role ensures that all leave requests are processed accurately and in accordance with company policies, federal/state regulations, and applicable benefit plans. The supervisor leads a team responsible for day‑to‑day leave management and serves as a primary resource for employees, HR partners, and managers regarding leave procedures and requirements.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Recruitment Range: $50,088 -$87,654

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred.

  • Basic to working knowledge in the interpretation and application of federal laws and State HR laws, policies and practices governing HR.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to express ideas clearly and concisely; to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making recommendations and/or decisions within delegated level of authority.

Position is eligible for a hybrid-teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours

About the DHHS Division of Human Resources:
The DHHS Division of Human Resources is responsible for strategic and tactical human capital management within DHHS including compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations affecting employee relations, recruitment/selection, job evaluation, salary administration, benefits, workers compensation, safety, and core staff development.

Veterans’ and National Guard Preference

  • Applicants seeking Veteran's Preference must attach a DD-214 Member-4 Form (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to their applications.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
