Job Description:

The World Trade Center Health Program is a limited federal health program administered by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The Program provides no-cost medical monitoring and treatment for certified WTC-related health conditions to those directly affected by the 9/11 attacks in New York, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania

This position will contribute to the strategic direction of the business and support impactful mission outcomes. Here, you’ll enable the success of critical healthcare operations and ensure providers meet all regulatory, payer, and organizational requirements for the World Trade Center Health Program.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Provider Credentialing Specialist, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP). You will play a crucial role in ensuring healthcare providers are properly credentialed, compliant with regulations, and ready to deliver services to program members.

● Lead day‑to‑day credentialing and recredentialing activities that directly support regulatory compliance, provider onboarding, and program readiness.
● Collaborate with providers, internal credentialing teams, quality staff, and operational leadership to ensure applications, verifications, and documentation are complete and accurate.
● Drive accurate credentialing outcomes by performing Primary Source Verification (PSV), validating licensure and certifications, preparing files for committee review, and maintaining meticulous provider records.
● Utilize credentialing systems, quality review processes, regulatory standards (CMS, NCQA), and documentation best practices to support high‑quality provider management operations.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your initiative and drive for accuracy to GDIT. The Provider Credentialing Representative must have:

Education: High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience: 2+ years of healthcare credentialing experience preferred
Technical skills: Knowledge of initial credentialing, recredentialing, PSV, credentialing documentation requirements, regulatory compliance (CMS, NCQA), and provider onboarding workflows
Security clearance level: MB(T2)
US citizenship required
Role requirements: Strong attention to detail; excellent organization and communication skills; ability to manage deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with providers and internal teams; <10% travel as needed

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $46,750.00 - $63,250.00. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
