The Role
The Maintenance Manager is a strategic leader responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and long-term performance of the plant's assets while developing a high-performing maintenance organization. This role drives operational excellence through strong people leadership, financial stewardship, TPM principles, and a proactive maintenance culture that supports safety, productivity, quality, and business objectives. The position serves as a key partner to Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance, translating business priorities into sustainable maintenance strategies.
What You'll Do (Impact Areas)
Strategic Maintenance Leadership
- Develop and execute the site's maintenance strategy aligned with operational, financial, and business objectives.
- Establish a culture focused on asset reliability, preventive maintenance, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.
- Drive TPM initiatives to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and increase asset utilization.
- Partner with plant leadership to develop long-term maintenance and asset management roadmaps.
People Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors, planners, engineers, and technicians.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, collaboration, recognition, and respect.
- Develop succession plans and leadership pipelines within the maintenance organization.
- Promote strong communication, employee development, and cross-functional teamwork across the plant.
Financial & Business Management
- Manage and optimize maintenance operating budgets (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX).
- Build business cases and present maintenance investments using financial and operational analysis.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining reliability and operational performance.
- Monitor and improve maintenance costs, asset lifecycle costs, energy consumption, and contractor expenses.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Drive planning and scheduling excellence through effective use of CMMS systems and standardized processes.
- Lead shutdowns, major maintenance events, and critical equipment recovery efforts.
- Partner with Production, Quality, EHS, and Engineering teams to prioritize plant needs and optimize asset performance.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Utilize maintenance KPIs to drive decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion root cause analysis, failure elimination, and asset performance optimization.
- Lead initiatives focused on MTBF improvement, downtime reduction, and maintenance productivity.
- Support digitalization initiatives and maintenance performance visibility through data analytics and reporting.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities are executed in compliance with EHS standards and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a zero-incident culture for employees and contractors.
- Support compliance with corporate, environmental, and safety policies while maintaining audit readiness.

What You Bring (Qualifications)
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of maintenance experience within manufacturing, industrial, automotive, heavy industry, mining, metals, or process environments.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams.
- Proven experience leading supervisors, engineers, planners, and technical personnel.
- Strong experience managing OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
- Experience with maintenance KPIs including downtime, availability, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, and maintenance cost management.
- Experience with CMMS platforms such as SAP PM, Maximo, Infor, or similar.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with operations and executive leadership.
- Advanced English proficiency.
Nice to Have
- Reliability Engineering experience.
- Knowledge of RCM, FMEA, RCA, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance methodologies.
- Automation and controls experience, including PLCs, SCADA, Industry 4.0, and digital manufacturing initiatives.
- Predictive maintenance expertise, including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and condition monitoring.
- Experience leading digitalization projects, IoT implementations, or maintenance analytics initiatives.
- Asset Management certifications or TPM certifications.
Work Model & Travel
- Plant-based leadership role.
- Availability to support critical business needs outside normal operating hours.
- Travel as required for training, project implementation, benchmarking, and supplier support.
