Description

Executive Director, Head of Strategy & Transformation

Regeneron’s Global Technology, Engineering, Operations & Application Managed Services (GTEO) runs the technology behind our research, manufacturing, and commercial operations and the $15B+ revenue pipeline they drive. As the company has grown across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and beyond, our technology investments and modernization work have grown with it and so has the need to lead all of it as one coherent program rather than a set of separate efforts. Security and AI now run through everything we build, and the strategy must treat them as built-in from the start, not bolted on later. We are creating this role to do exactly that: put one senior leader in charge of where GTEO is headed, what we invest in, and how we transform the estate to support the next phase of the company’s growth.

The Executive Director, Head of GTEO Strategy & Transformation owns strategy, planning, design, and transformation for the GTEO organization. You will assist in setting the multi-year direction and the standards that guide it, own the investment portfolio and the budget for the function, and lead the major transformation programs through to results. You set the direction and govern the portfolio; the delivery teams continue to execute the projects. You will report to the Global Head of GTEO and be a lead voice on technology strategy and transformation for the organization with senior leaders inside and outside Regeneron.

Where and When:

This is an on-site position 4 days/week, primarily based at our Sleepy Hollow, NY or Warren, NJ office. If eligible, we can offer relocation benefits; we cannot offer a fully remote option.

A typical day in this role looks like:

  • Assisting with the multi-year strategy and architectural direction for GTEO, translating enterprise priorities into a funded roadmap and setting the standards that govern how we invest and modernize.

  • Owning the investment portfolio and the budget end to end: prioritizing and funding against business value and capacity.

  • Leading the major transformation programs from strategy through delivered value, accountable for the business case and the benefits we committed to.

  • Owning and shaping how capacity is allocated so the roadmap is one we can fund, staff, and sequence; procurement and the delivery teams own contracts and execution.

  • Setting direction on technology lifecycle, refresh, and technical-debt retirement as part of the roadmap, with delivery teams owning execution.

  • Prioritizing and funding transformation initiatives sourced from Business Process Excellence & User Experience (BPE/UX) process and experience redesigns and Enterprise Architecture's technology roadmap — completing the sequential model in which BPE/UX designs the experience, EA architects the technology, and S&T funds and delivers.

  • Building security and resilience into the strategy and architecture from the start, setting the standards in close partnership with the CISO organization, which owns security operations and policy.

  • Setting the strategy for how AI is adopted across GTEO, from the platforms and guardrails to the operating model, so the organization scales AI safely and gets real value from it.

  • Building and structuring the transformation functions across strategy, architecture, portfolio, and operations.

  • Partnering with senior leaders across Research, Commercial, IOPS, and our India GCC, and advising technology leadership, to keep the organization’s strategy tied to the business and execution aligned to the roadmap.

  • Representing the program to executive stakeholders with clear reporting, metrics, and audit-ready governance, and benchmarking against industry peers to keep us sharp.

This role might be for you if:

  • You have led strategy, planning, or transformation for a large infrastructure or technology organization and owned the results.

  • You have built and run a technology investment portfolio, deciding what gets funded when resources are tight and demands compete.

  • You have delivered large, complex transformation programs that crossed organizational lines, not just individual projects.

  • You know enough about cloud, network, compute, and platforms to set direction and standards that hold up under scrutiny.

  • You understand how security and AI reshape an enterprise estate, and you can set strategy and standards for both while partnering well with the security organization.

  • You build alignment across senior stakeholders and can drive decisions without relying on direct authority.

  • You have worked in pharma, biotech, or life sciences, with exposure to GxP, regulated environments, or global manufacturing.

  • You have operated in a global company with central strategy and distributed delivery.

This role requires

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or a related field. An advanced degree (MS, MBA, or equivalent) is preferred.

  • 15+ years in enterprise infrastructure or technology, with real depth in strategy, portfolio management, and transformation, and exposure to security and AI at enterprise scale.

  • 5+ years leading a strategy, portfolio, or transformation function, including managing people at the Director or Senior Manager level.

  • 3+ years owning portfolio prioritization and investment decisions in a complex, multi-domain environment.

  • A track record leading cross-functional programs with finance, delivery, and senior business stakeholders.
