Summary
The Vice Provost for Academic Support Services serves as a senior leader responsible for the strategic oversight, integration, and continuous improvement of university-wide academic support functions. Reporting to the Provost, this role ensures that core academic infrastructure—including student success services, libraries and educational technologies, registrar functions, and curriculum support—operates cohesively to advance student outcomes, academic quality, and institutional effectiveness.
Job Duties
- Provides vision and leadership for academic support services, aligning units with institutional academic priorities and student success goals; drives cross-functional integration across academic success, libraries, registrar, curriculum infrastructure, and academic partnerships.
- Leads academic success and retention strategies, including advising, tutoring, and Academic Success Center programming, using data-informed approaches to improve persistence, performance, and completion outcomes.
- Provides executive oversight of university libraries, instructional design, and academic technologies; advances innovation in digital learning, immersive technologies, and teaching and learning resources.
- Oversees registrar functions, academic records, academic policies and catalog management, student business services, academic calendars, and clinical skills simulation centers, ensuring compliance with institutional, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
- Partners with Deans and academic leaders to support program development, approval, and lifecycle management; advances curriculum innovation, ensures program sustainability, and provides oversight of JCIPE.
- Provides oversight and coordination of international services and supports study-away and other experiential learning opportunities that enhance academic programming and student engagement.
- Supervises senior leaders across academic support domains; builds high-performing teams and fosters a culture of collaboration and accountability while leveraging data, assessment, and analytics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline required
- 10 years progressive leadership experience in higher education academic affairs or student success. and
- 5 years Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple, complex academic support functions. and
- 5 years Strong understanding of accreditation, academic policies, and higher education operations

Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate
- 5 years Experience with academic technologies, libraries, or digital learning environments.
- 5 years Demonstrated success in improving student retention and outcomes.
- 5 years Experience working in a multi-campus or health sciences environment.
- 5 years Experience with external academic partners.

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
