Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Team at BMC in Springfield, Massachusetts. Our 28 bed Adult Psychiatric Treatment Unit (APTU) offers inpatient treatment for patients ages 18 and older with psychiatric disorders in a safe, secure setting, with working within a multidisciplinary team with advanced treatment modalities, act as an advocate for patients, families and significant others.

The Registered Nurse role offers involvement in teamwork, problem-solving, and accountability, with the goals of improved staff satisfaction, productivity, and patient outcomes. Join committees, councils and task forces that seek your input and expertise while respecting your autonomy.

The Registered Nurse Will:

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to adult patients experiencing psychiatric disorders in a secure 28-bed inpatient treatment unit.
• Assess patients’ physical and mental health needs, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and monitor treatment progress.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Advocate for patients, families, and significant others by promoting dignity, safety, informed decision-making, and continuity of care.
• Utilize advanced psychiatric treatment modalities and therapeutic nursing interventions to support patient stabilization and recovery.
• Participate in teamwork, problem-solving, and shared accountability initiatives to improve staff satisfaction, productivity, safety, and patient outcomes.
• Contribute professional expertise and clinical insight through participation in committees, councils, and task forces while maintaining nursing autonomy and accountability.

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and rotating holidays

Required Skills  

• Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 year RN experience required
• Education: ADN required, BSN preferred

Compensation

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
