Description
LOCATION: Full-time, onsite in Chantilly, VA
We are seeking a mission‑driven Software Engineer with deep experience building, integrating, and analyzing complex systems across modern cloud environments. In this role, you’ll develop robust back‑end solutions in JavaScript, Python, and additional languages; integrate advanced AWS services including Lambda, S3, Batch, EC2, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, IAM, DynamoDB, and container platforms; and apply strong engineering fundamentals to solve collection and processing challenges.

Key Responsibilities
- Programming in JavaScript and Python
- Integrating cloud services including Lambda functions and layers, S3, Batch, EC2, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, IAM roles, DynamoDB, and container services, etc.
- Leveraging a background in programming, software tools and packages, operating systems, and networking to solve collection needs
- Deep experience in software development.
- Ability to gather mission needs and transform to technical requirements for Sponsor consideration. Documenting and communicating technical and non-technical mission requirements for all audiences.
- Working with other technical teams across multiple organizational boundaries.
- Ability to program efficiently (back-end, not UI) in at least one other programing language (NOT Python or JavaScript).
- installing Linux from scratch and developing complex Unix shell scripts.
- Using AWS Cloud Development Kits (CDK). (CloudFormation, Terraform or similar are NOT substitutes for CDK experience.)
- Transforming data in various file formats into common formats, such as JSON, CSV, or XML.
- Analyzing unknown software code and extracting relevant fields to determine and mimic its behavior.
- Ability to develop a software system testing harness or implement a continuous testing methodology on a project.
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Tools, such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, JADX, or APKtool.
- Multiple cloud providers.
- Other programming languages besides Python.
