Inspector

Description

Cox & Company, Inc. is looking for an outgoing individual that will conduct inspections of electronic and electro-mechanical subassemblies and completed products utilizing standard measuring equipment and dedicated test sets. Follows and executes final Acceptance Test Procedures. Makes determinations of product compliance to requirements. Key contributor to the detection and resolution of product and test equipment problems. 

Requirements

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Incoming Inspection: Verify raw materials and purchased components against specifications using visual checks and precision measurement tools, rejecting non-conforming items.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all manufactured parts comply with engineering prints, Mil-Specs, AS9100 quality standards, and AS9102 first-article documentation requirements.
• Data & Documentation: Accurately record inspection outcomes, maintain quality logs, enter data into our quality databases, including nonconforming material.
• Equipment: Care for precision measuring tools, support calibration activities, and report equipment maintenance needs promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  Technical Proficiency:

• Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and Mil-Specs.
• Strong background in AS9102 first-article inspection documentation (Net-Inspect experience is a strong plus).
• Proficiency with precision hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators.
• Familiarity with automated measuring tools such as Coordinate Measurement Machines or       Optical/Vision systems.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions in English.
• Strong shop mathematics capabilities and analytical problem-solving skills.
• This position involves exposure to projects and contracts subject to the International Traffic in Arm Regulations (ITAR). As result, only U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) are eligible for employment in this role. Applicants must meet these requirements to be considered.

Education and Work Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (relevant vocational training is a plus).
• 2 years of inspection experience, Desired 5th year or technical education.

Physical Demands

• Regular physical movement, including standing, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, and grasping.
• Ability to safely lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
• Requirement to pass an annual acuity vision test.

Safety Requirements

• This position requires the use of approved safety footwear (ASTM F-2413 complaint) when accessing or working in production and workshop areas.
