Job Description Summary

GE Vernova's Gas Power business in Pensacola, FL is in an exciting phase of major growth — and we're looking for a hands-on, adaptable Facilities Engineer to be part of it. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-energy, startup-minded team in the middle of one of the most significant facility expansions in the organization's recent history: a ~$200M+ capital investment encompassing a 50,000 sq. ft. expansion and the refitting of more than 100,000 sq. ft. of existing manufacturing space.

You will work directly with leadership and a dedicated EPCM contractor to manage day-to-day construction execution — interfacing with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with GE Vernova's operational standards. As the build-out progresses, this role will evolve into a broader Facilities Management function, giving you long-term runway and career growth within a dynamic, people-first organization.

This position requires hands-on problem solving, strong project management skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering teams. The role also includes on-call support for facility-related emergencies, and requires flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Job Description

What You'll Do

Construction & Capital Project Execution

• Serve as daily boots-on-the-ground support for a major facility expansion and plant refit project
• Interface with EPCM contractor, general contractors, and subcontractors on change orders, scheduling, and scope management
• Support equipment installations, paving, infrastructure upgrades, and large-scale refitting of manufacturing spaces
• Prepare capital cost justifications and manage delegated project appropriations
• Champion cost benefit analysis and budget coordination for CapEx projects

Facilities Engineering & Operations

• Plan and execute facility improvement projects from concept through completion
• Implement and sustain preventative maintenance programs in compliance with regulatory and safety standards
• Diagnose and resolve facility, safety, quality, and productivity issues with a hands-on approach
• Coordinate facility initiatives with Operations to support uninterrupted production
• Ensure all equipment and third-party services are competitively sourced, properly contracted, and cost-effective
• Negotiate, maintain, and review contracts for all third-party facilities contractors
• Forecast and monitor the Facilities department budget on an ongoing basis

Continuous Improvement & Safety

• Drive process improvement initiatives supporting Safety, Lean, and Ergonomic standards across plant operations
• Perform capacity analysis and develop cost-reduction projects through value analysis
• Maintain manufacturing premises to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness
• Reduce process variation (DPMO) through systematic root cause analysis and corrective action

Collaboration & Leadership

• Provide technical support to site facility, maintenance, and production manufacturing teams
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing engineers on equipment modifications, control logic changes, and documentation updates
• Provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior team members
• Participate in on-call rotation for facility-related emergencies; flexibility to work weekends when required

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Facilities Engineering — or equivalent technical experience (U.S.: high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience will be considered)
• Minimum 5 years of facilities engineering experience
• Minimum 5 years in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated experience with CapEx project management, construction coordination, or large-scale equipment installation
• Willingness and ability to work weekends as project needs demand
• U.S. work authorization required — this role does not support immigration sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with EPCM contractors, general contractors, or subcontractors on industrial construction projects
• Strong knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures
• Familiarity with reliability concepts (MTTR, MTBF, probability of failure, condition monitoring)
• Experience with CMMS platforms and equipment failure data analysis
• Exposure to Industrial IoT technology
• Proficiency with control systems including Allen Bradley, FANUC, and/or Siemens
• Experience with CAD software, project management tools, and MS Office Suite
• Strong capital project management background
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present to stakeholders and document technical findings

Additional Information

 

 

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,700.00 and $152,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
