In order to support the Eurofighter and New Generation Fighter System Design Team, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
System Architect for Mission Systems (d/f/m)
Joining the Mission Systems Center of Competence in Manching, you will support the medium- and long-term Avionic and Mission System product development for Eurofighter and Future Combat Air System.
You will translate customer needs into concrete product visions while pushing boundaries to explore capabilities beyond current capabilities. The team develops a product vision/new concepts based on the knowledge of current customer needs and also proactively explores new operational capabilities beyond existing requirements. The team assesses existing and emerging technologies in the market as well within Airbus. It also analyzes civil and military standards which might drive changes into the system. It develops new technologies if concepts cannot be realized otherwise. A strong exchange with other Airbus Divisions is required to guarantee a cross-platform approach.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Identify stakeholders and capture their needs and expectations.
Define and validate requirements whilst considering the full System Life Cycle.
Design and define possible architectures, in collaboration with subject matter experts, based on the requirements.
Perform trade-off analysis in order to select the best solution fulfilling the requirements.
Understand and assess the impact of design changes requested during the entire product lifecycle.
Work independently and responsibly as part of an international team and in a multinational project environment.
Desired skills and qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
5+ years of professional experience in Systems or Software Engineering, Testing, or Equipment Engineering.
In-depth knowledge of Systems Engineering lifecycle methodologies, architectural frameworks, and MBSE principles.
Hands-on experience in requirements management and system modeling using IBM DOORS and Cameo.
Background in system architecture (defense or high-complexity non-defense domain) alongside experience in R&T (Research & Technology) initiatives.
Strong analytical mindset, proactive collaborative spirit in international team environments, and fluent English skills.
