Location - San Francisco, CA - (On-site – 5 Days Per Week)

Compensation - $200,000 – $300,000 Base + Competitive Equity

As a Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer, you'll own end-to-end deployment of the platform into enterprise customer environments spanning cloud VPCs, hybrid deployments, and bare-metal infrastructure. You'll combine deep infrastructure engineering expertise with strong customer-facing technical leadership while helping define how enterprise AI infrastructure is deployed at scale.

What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end deployment of the platform into enterprise customer environments
• Design and implement infrastructure across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments
• Deploy Kubernetes-based AI infrastructure into customer-controlled environments
• Partner directly with customer platform, infrastructure, security, and engineering teams
• Debug complex Kubernetes, networking, IAM, cloud, and infrastructure issues in production
• Design scalable deployment architectures supporting enterprise AI workloads
• Build infrastructure automation that converts one-off deployments into repeatable deployment frameworks
• Improve monitoring, telemetry, deployment tooling, and operational reliability
• Design Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and modern deployment tooling
• Deploy GPU-backed AI infrastructure supporting production machine learning workloads
• Collaborate closely with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to improve deployment experience
• Help define best practices for enterprise AI infrastructure deployments as the company scales

Ideal Candidate Background

Experience Requirements

• 3+ years of Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering experience
• Experience owning production infrastructure for cloud-native software platforms
• Experience working at VC-backed startups or fast-growing technology companies
• Experience deploying production infrastructure at scale
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers during technical deployments strongly preferred
• Strong startup ownership mentality with demonstrated engineering execution
• Experience operating Kubernetes-based production environments
• Experience building highly available cloud infrastructure
• Experience debugging complex production infrastructure issues
• Previous startup experience strongly preferred over exclusively large enterprise backgrounds

Technical Requirements

• Strong infrastructure engineering fundamentals
• Expert Kubernetes production experience
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code expertise
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure production environments
• Strong Linux systems administration knowledge
• Deep networking fundamentals including DNS, VPCs, IAM, VPNs, load balancing, and security
• Experience with Docker, Helm, and container orchestration
• Experience deploying GPU infrastructure or AI infrastructure preferred
• Strong Python scripting or infrastructure automation experience
• Experience designing scalable infrastructure supporting enterprise production workloads

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical discipline preferred
• Strong engineering background with demonstrated infrastructure expertise
• Top technical universities or exceptional engineering accomplishments strongly preferred
