JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
What you will do:
- Execute & coordinate supervisory role of 12-hour shift rotations at AABC (Prime Station) and ACBC (Disaster Recovery Site) to ensure continuous operational support.
- Ability to mobilized at either operations site based on needs and requirement.
- Provide related technical trainings on transmission systems,
- Oversee shift Engineers liaison with internal stakeholders in delivering services and ensure it meets station broadcast standard.
- Lead team of Engineers in planning, guiding & executing preventive/corrective maintenance activities.
- Liaise with vendors on system development and enhancement (on technical matters).
- To address initial technical requirements of a project prior to implementation and conduct SAT (System Acceptance Test) prior to handover.
- Provide constructive and innovative solutions beneficial for department & division benefits
- Maintain high availability of the transmission system for DTH services, ensuring compliance with broadcast technical specifications at all times.
- Minimize service disruptions by promptly identifying equipment failures and implementing effective contingency or alternative service solutions.
- Coordinate with external service providers to manage incoming and outgoing transmission services via satellite, DSNG, fibre, and internet platforms.
- Manage LIVE coverages originating from in-house production i.e. Awani, ASSB, ARSB.
- Ensure optimal performance and reliability of RF transmission systems (Uplink & Downlink), consistently meeting agreed transmission availability targets.
- Perform both corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with established procedures and scheduled plans.
- Provide improvement plans in minimizing system related outages and enhancing transmission availability.
- Provide internal support related to AV & conference system in meeting suites and training rooms.
OPERATIONS
- Ensure team operates and monitors all departmental systems in accordance with established procedures and operational guidelines.
- Verify that backup systems are fully functional and ready for immediate deployment when required.
- Adhere strictly to divisional escalation workflows to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Proactively takes the role of Incident Manager where required for crisis situation or any outages which requires escalation
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and support operational activities effectively.
- Plan and coordinate technical events and operational activities to ensure smooth execution.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer on transmission systems within the department.
- Evaluate systems and equipment performance, and recommend upgrades or improvements where necessary.
- Liaise with vendors on addressing complex operational issues
- Constantly provide operations support to internal and external stakeholders where required.
- Perform first-line maintenance promptly on all reported or detected faults to minimize service impact.
- Collaborate with program providers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve faults and technical issues.
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
- Plan, supervise, perform and support preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to ensure system reliability and optimal performance.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all preventive maintenance activities to minimize operational disruption and ensure timely completion.
- Be in touch with OEMs for bug fixes, EOL details and other matters which benefits both RF and baseband infra.
CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE
- Perform and support corrective maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Ensure all corrective maintenance tasks meet agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including response time and resolution targets.
- Assign, monitor, and track corrective maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and effective issue resolution.
TECHNICAL STANDARDS & QUALITY CONTROL
- Constantly update SOPs, DBM and RPs. To be aligned with Risk Team and ensure all the necessary documents are available and updated in preventing NCRs from audit processes.
- Ensure all systems operate in full compliance with defined technical specifications.
- Plan and schedule regular checks and inspections to verify that systems consistently meet required technical standards.
- Identify systems requiring periodic technical specification verification and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all such activities.
INFORMATION PROCESSING
- Generate detailed and accurate shift reports, ensuring all information is comprehensive, factual, and clearly documented.
- Maintain timely and accurate communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Prepare operational and monthly reports with a high level of accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
- Perform statistical analysis to support operational insights, performance tracking, and decision-making.
- Develop and compile technical and ad-hoc reports as required, ensuring they meet quality and accuracy standards.
- Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Safe Work Procedures (SWSP), and Safe Work Hazard Analysis (SWHA) documentation.
- Maintain proper records and documentation of all preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) activities for audit and tracking purposes.
DATABASE ADMINISTRATION
- Maintain and conduct regular inventory checks on all technical spare parts and faulty components to ensure availability and proper tracking.
- Perform routine system inventory audits to verify asset status, accuracy, and operational readiness.
- Maintain and continuously update the equipment documentation database, ensuring accurate records of all systems and assets within the department.
REQUIREMENTS:
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering from a recognized university or college.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant technical software tools.
- Strong command of English (both written and spoken), with the ability to produce clear, detailed technical reports.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration skills in a dynamic operational environment.
- Analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot issues and implement practical solutions.
- Innovative and proactive in improving systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
- Maintains high ethical standards and professional conduct in all responsibilities.
- More than 4 years of relevant experience.
