Join the change. Electrify your future.
About the role
As the Electrification & Innovation Engineering Technical Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering Australia’s next generation of distributed energy solutions. Working across EV charging, Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), solar, battery storage and integrated energy systems, you'll own the technical journey from concept and design through to deployment, optimisation and scale. This role is ideal for an experienced end-to-end engineer who can bridge strategy, product development, system integration and field delivery to drive real-world customer and commercial outcomes.
What you will be doing:
Provide technical leadership across electrification and distributed energy portfolios, driving solution design, engineering standards and delivery strategies across EV charging, VPP, solar and battery solutions.
Partner with Product Owners, engineering teams and business leaders to define technical roadmaps, assess new technologies, and translate product concepts into scalable, commercially viable solutions.
Lead technical governance across the full solution lifecycle, supporting system design reviews, complex deployments, integration challenges, operational performance issues, and warranty or field escalations.
Oversee technology selection, system architecture, installation standards and partner delivery models to ensure solutions are safe, compliant, reliable and optimised for scale.
Collaborate closely with manufacturers, EPCs, installers, network partners and technology vendors to align on technical requirements, integration approaches and delivery excellence.
Drive continuous improvement through performance monitoring, operational insights and emerging technology trends, embedding safety-by-design principles and compliance with Australian Standards and market regulations.
Champion innovation across the portfolio by identifying opportunities to enhance product performance, customer experience, grid integration and commercial outcomes through new technologies and delivery models.
About you:
Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end electrification, renewable energy or distributed energy projects, including design of Residential/SME EV charging, solar, battery storage, VPPs or integrated energy solutions.
Strong technical understanding of EV charging infrastructure, energy management systems, DER integration and the evolving eMobility landscape.
Experience working within EPC, engineering consultancy, utility, energy retail or technology environments, with exposure to design, installation, commissioning and operational support.
Deep understanding of Australian Standards, DNSP requirements, grid connection processes and electrical compliance frameworks.
Proven ability to work across product, engineering, operations and delivery teams to bring complex technical solutions from concept through to deployment and optimisation.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging installers, contractors, OEMs, technology vendors and delivery partners.
Experience using project delivery, workflow management and operational platforms within a technical or engineering environment.
Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy or related Engineering discipline (preferred).
