Overview
The BMS (Building Management System) / LMV (Local Monitoring and Visualization) / DCP (Distributed Control Panel) Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and controlling HVAC and utility systems through Building Management Systems and related control platforms. The role ensures the efficient and safe operation of chilled water plants, HVAC equipment, and associated safety and shutdown systems while maintaining optimal building performance. The operator is expected to provide timely system monitoring, fault identification, operational support, and accurate reporting in compliance with client procedures, safety standards, and operational requirements.
Your role
- Monitor and operate Building Management Systems (BMS), LMV, and DCP control systems on a daily basis.
- Supervise the operation of chilled water production plants, HVAC systems, and associated utility equipment.
- Monitor system parameters, alarms, trends, and performance indicators to ensure efficient operation.
- Identify operational abnormalities, system faults, and equipment malfunctions, and escalate issues to maintenance teams when required.
- Operate and monitor safety, shutdown, and emergency control systems in accordance with approved procedures.
- Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and system records.
- Analyze system data and provide recommendations for performance improvement and energy optimization.
- Coordinate with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation technicians during maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with client policies, safety procedures, and operating standards.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and initiate corrective actions as per established procedures.
- Perform routine inspections of plant equipment and verify equipment status through control systems.
- Support preventive maintenance programs by providing operational feedback and system history.
- Utilize computer applications, emails, and reporting tools for communication and documentation purposes.
About you
- Completion of Secondary Education (12 years of schooling).
- Three-year full-time Diploma in Mechanical, Process, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Age between 25 and 30 years preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or instrumentation plant operations.
- Experience in oil & gas facilities, refineries, district cooling plants, or similar industrial environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of chilled water production systems and associated HVAC equipment.
- Familiarity with safety interlocks, shutdown systems, and plant operational procedures.
- Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and automated control systems is desirable.
- Proficiency in operating Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA, or similar monitoring platforms.
- Good understanding of HVAC plant operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and email communication.
- Good spoken and written English communication skills.
- Ability to interpret operational data, trends, and system alarms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in shifts and respond effectively during emergencies.
