Salary Range: $24.75 - $27.85 / hour

 

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range. Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Oncology Infusion Referral Coordinator is responsible for specialty patient referrals, preauthorizations, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and serving as the primarypoint of contact for internal and external requests for information, as well as provides generaloffice support for providers and other department staff. This specialty position initiates andmonitors treatment authorizations, as well as incoming and outgoing referrals.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) 
  • Six (6) months of experience working with various insurance referrals, authorizations, anddocumentation needs

Preferred:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Oncology and Related Medical Practice Terminology
  • Knowledge of basic medical coverage plans including HMO, PPO, State programs and other types of coverage
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Record software
  • One (1) year direct related experience or training in an Oncology practice or other specialtyclinic
