Description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Telecom Field Engineer to support construction, installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities for telecom systems on a major ADNOC Onshore project. The successful candidate will provide on-site technical support, resolve field engineering issues, ensure compliance with project specifications and ADNOC standards, and coordinate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, commissioning, vendors, and client representatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide field engineering support for telecom systems during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Review and resolve site technical queries (TQs), field change requests (FCRs), and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Ensure telecom installation activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, project procedures, and ADNOC standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, vendors, commissioning teams, and client representatives to resolve site issues.
- Review telecom layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, loop diagrams, equipment layouts, and installation drawings.
- Supervise installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of telecom systems.
- Support system walkdowns, punch listing, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Verify field modifications and ensure accurate as-built documentation is prepared.
- Monitor subcontractor activities and provide technical guidance to site engineers and supervisors.
- Attend client meetings and provide technical clarifications on telecom-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE requirements and project quality standards.
- Coordinate with vendors during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and system integration activities.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 12–15 years of Oil & Gas experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Telecom Field Engineer or Senior Telecom Field Engineer.
- Mandatory experience on ADNOC Onshore EPC projects.
- Strong experience in construction support, field engineering, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of telecom systems.
- Hands-on experience with the installation and commissioning of: Public Address & General Alarm (PA/GA), Telephone Systems, CCTV, Access Control System (ACS), Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Structured Cabling Systems, Fiber Optic Networks, LAN/WAN Networks, Radio Communication Systems (VHF/UHF/TETRA), Microwave Communication Systems, IP Telephony, Network Infrastructure, Time Synchronization Systems
- Strong understanding of telecom drawings, cable routing, equipment installation, and network integration.
- Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, ITU, IEEE, TIA/EIA, NFPA, and ADNOC Engineering Standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting, coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary EPC project teams.
- Previous experience on ADNOC Brownfield or Greenfield Onshore projects.
- Experience supporting commissioning, system integration, and plant start-up activities.
- Experience coordinating with telecom equipment vendors during installation and commissioning.
