Job Summary:

 The Floral Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading the floral department.  The Floral Manager must create quality appealing seasonal, flowers and evergreen arrangements for different occasions, using design and display strategies to drive sales.  The Floral Manager must exhibit accountability, strong team management skills and hands-on involvement

Requirements

• Responsible for managing the department’s inventory, collaborating on pricing.
• Scheduling the necessary labor, operational processes sales strategies.
• Provides training to new hires.
• Maintains records of invoices, receiving, and waste control, and achieving department merchandising goals in cooperation with merchandisers, and buyers.
• Keeps display cases and other merchandising areas stocked and signed; displays merchandise in an attractive, appealing, neat and colorful manner.
• Reinforces safety and proper flower handling practices, particularly for rare or delicate strains. 
• Prices displays accurately, and makes sure all merchandise is stored properly and rotates based on store policy. 
• Oversees ordering, deliveries, production, customer satisfaction and standards for the Floral Department. 
• Greets and waits on customers and provides them with prompt, courteous premier customer service and assistance; including wrapping, arranging and pricing merchandise.
• Maintains the department sanitation and quality standards, including sweeping, mopping, removing cardboard and refuse as needed.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in floral processing and handling.
• Knowledge in floral design and arrangements.
• Knowledge of plant care, able to differentiate between various types of flowers and plants and related merchandise including use and care (indoors and outdoors).
• Knowledge to recommend, plan ahead, and order weekly floral to meet demand.
• Experience in market pricing and business sense to maximize profitability.
• Collaboration and teamwork and organization, planning and time management.
• Excellent communication, listening skills.

Physical Demands:

• Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Regularly required to stand and/or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Frequently required to bend, twist, reach, push and pull.
• Able to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs. 
• Able to work with a wide variety of substances without negative allergic consequences.
• Able to tolerate moderate amounts of dust and cleaning agents.
