Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs, Influencer Strategy

 

What you will do

Amgen is seeking a strategic, creative and highly collaborative Senior Manager, Influencer Strategy to help build and lead an enterprise approach to influencer engagement. This role will develop programs that responsibly engage credible external voices, including creators, patient advocates, health professionals and other trusted third parties, to advance Amgen’s corporate reputation, scientific leadership and patient-centered storytelling.

 

Sitting at the intersection of earned media, social and digital engagement and reporting to the Executive Director, External Engagement, the Senior Manager will shape influencer strategy across priority enterprise narratives, identify opportunities for creator partnerships to extend priority narratives, increase cultural relevance and reach audiences through voices they trust. This individual will work closely with Corporate Affairs, Advocacy, Law, Regulatory, Compliance and Agency partners – pairing strong cultural fluency and relationship-building skills with sound judgment in a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will work independently and proactively identify opportunities to advance Amgen’s priority narratives and external engagement goals.

 

In this role, you will need to:

·       Develop and execute an enterprise influencer strategy aligned with Amgen’s corporate affairs, reputation and business priorities.

·       Identify, assess and cultivate relationships with credible influencers, creators, patient advocates, health professionals and other third-party voices relevant to priority audiences and narratives to authentically amplify external engagement initiatives.

·       Advise senior stakeholders on influencer opportunities, emerging trends, reputational considerations and recommended courses of action.

·       Partner with media relations, social, digital, advocacy and product communications teams to integrate creator engagement into broader communications strategies.

·       Establish clear engagement standards, scalable processes, playbooks and governance models for influencer engagement across the enterprise that support transparency, business priority alignment, appropriate disclosure and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies.

·       Leverage creator discovery, social listening, media intelligence and analytics tools to inform sourcing, program design and reporting.

·       Help shape event strategies that bring together media and influential third-party voices to increase the visibility and impact of Amgen’s priority stories.

·       Maintain a strong understanding of digital culture, emerging platforms, creator trends and audience behavior to identify new opportunities and potential risks.

·       Translate campaign performance data into clear insights and recommendations that improve future strategies and investments.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field

OR

Master’s degree and 4 years of experience in social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience in social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of experience in social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience in social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·       8+ years of experience developing creator or influencer programs within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, another highly regulated industry or a leading communications agency.

·       Demonstrated ability to build trusted external relationships and manage complex partnerships from strategy through execution.

·       Highly self-directed and proactive, with demonstrated ability to independently identify opportunities, develop recommendations and drive complex workstreams forward.

·       Strong knowledge of creator discovery platforms, social analytics tools, media intelligence platforms and campaign measurement methodologies.

·       Experience with creator contracts, compensation models, content licensing, usage rights and disclosure requirements.

·       Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to develop clear, compelling and precise creative briefs.

·       Sound strategic judgment and the ability to balance innovation, opportunity and reputational risk.

·       Proven ability to manage agencies, budgets and multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

·       Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
