Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician

Pay: $26.30–$34.55/hour
Travel: Up to 20%

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to support the assembly, testing, installation, and service of advanced scientific and industrial equipment.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who is comfortable working from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, bills of material (BOMs), and detailed work instructions. You will assemble and test complex systems, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, build cable and wire harness assemblies, and help improve manufacturing processes.

This role is a strong fit for technicians with experience in electromechanical assembly, electrical assembly, scientific instrumentation, semiconductor equipment, aerospace manufacturing, precision manufacturing, industrial equipment, or other high-tech production environments.

What You’ll Do

• Assemble, modify, integrate, and test electro-mechanical systems, assemblies, and subassemblies.
• Read and work from mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Perform mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, soldering, crimping, cable fabrication, and system integration.
• Build and install wire harnesses, cable assemblies, connectors, and electrical components.
• Perform functional, electrical, and mechanical testing on assemblies and completed systems.
• Troubleshoot wiring, assembly, electrical, and equipment performance issues.
• Identify root causes and make corrective adjustments with limited supervision.
• Document test results, assembly findings, repairs, and corrective actions.
• Create and improve assembly procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
• Participate in prototype builds and new product introduction (NPI) activities.
• Support continuous improvement projects focused on quality, efficiency, manufacturability, and product reliability.
• Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair at customer locations.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance when supporting field service activities.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve technical and production issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing workspace.

What We’re Looking For

• 4–6 years of related electro-mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, equipment manufacturing, or technical production experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret:
  • Electrical schematics
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Mechanical drawings
  • Assembly drawings
  • Technical work instructions
  • Bills of material
• Hands-on experience with soldering, crimping, cable assembly, wire harness fabrication, and connector installation.
• Experience assembling and testing complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to diagnose assembly, wiring, and system-level issues.
• Comfortable working independently on detailed technical assignments.
• Strong organization and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a technical manufacturing environment.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range for this position in Boulder, Colorado is $26.30–$34.55 per hour, depending on experience, technical skills, and qualifications.
