Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Materials Manager - Automotive located in Walker MI.

 

Reporting to the Materials Director, the Materials Manager – Automotive role directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in some or all the following areas: material planning, distribution, inventory control, material research, purchasing and supply chain management by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

 

 

What a typical day looks like:

 

• Manages, controls, and directs the activities and staff involved in the distribution of inventory to the production line.
• Knowledge in PCBA and SMT Automotive industry high-speed automation planning experience
• Manages, controls, and directs staff to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Experience in a 24/7 Manufacturing Facility with the ability to work some weekends and/or evenings
• Ensures the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, consistent with quality standards, affecting quality by assuring that suspicious material is identified, and that material is handled, stored, and delivered properly.
• Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
• Ensures a high degree of customer satisfaction through negotiations of customer expectations and managing and directing staff activities required to meet this expectation.
• Coordinates with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
• In charge of accurate inventory cycle counts, and controls.
• Provides for the proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
• Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures and material control systems.
• Reviews, plans, and approves purchase orders and change notices.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• In charge of disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
• Travel up to 15% as required.

 

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 10 years of Material Manufacturing Management experience
• 10 years Automotive Industry and People Management

• Expertise in very complex functional/ technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across global sites
• Expert functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
• Expertise in very complex functional/ technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across site
• Knowledge in PCBA and SMT Automotive industry high-speed automation planning experience
