Description
- Contracts & Documentation: Draft, review and negotiate routine commercial contracts, agreements and correspondence based on Group templates (escalating high-risk clauses to the Group Legal Counsel in Germany); manage the full contract lifecycle including deadlines, renewals, approvals, signature routing and proper filing.
- Compliance, Governance & Data Protection: Support compliance with Malaysian statutory requirements (Contracts Act, Companies Act) and internal policies in coordination with the Group Legal Counsel, including preparing and maintaining required data protection documentation (e.g. processing records, consent forms) under PDPA and tracking relevant regulatory developments.
- External & Corporate Secretarial Coordination: Review and ensure the accuracy of Directors’ Circular Resolutions, board papers and corporate records prepared by the licensed Company Secretary, and draft necessary documents for matters outside the Company Secretary’s scope, subject to the Company Secretary’s finalisation and act as the local point of contact for external lawyers, consultants and advisors, coordinating with the Group Legal Counsel.
- Licensing, Permits & Insurance: Coordinate applications, renewals and correspondence for permits, licences and project-related regulatory requirements with authorities, and administer insurance policies, renewals and claims correspondence, flagging relevant issues to management/Group Legal Counsel.
- General Support & Ad-hoc Duties: Familiarise with the Company's projects and business activities to provide effective administrative and legal support (flagging relevant aspects of new projects to the Group Legal Counsel), and undertake ad-hoc legal-administrative tasks assigned by the Managing Director, superior or Group Legal Counsel.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Legal Studies, Corporate Governance, Compliance, or a related field; LLB or equivalent legal qualification is an advantage.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in contracts and compliance, ideally in a manufacturing or multinational environment
- Ability to draft and review contracts in accordance with applicable Malaysian laws and business practices.
- Independent, structured and reliable working style with sound judgement on when to escalate
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
- Strong written and spoken English; German language skills an advantage, not required
