Job Description

As a DLT Shift Engineer within Advanced Packaging Technology Development Manufacturing Development Engineering (APTD MDE), you will provide shift-based execution support for Die Level Technology development activities in Taiwan. You will sustain development lot movement, respond to process and equipment abnormalities, support issue containment and escalation, and help maintain safe, efficient development execution across rotating day and night shifts.

You will collaborate with Process Development, Process Integration, Manufacturing, Equipment Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to support HBM technology development. This role provides hands-on experience in advanced packaging processes, new equipment and material evaluations, Statistical Process Control (SPC), redundancy tool deployment, structured problem solving, and data-driven execution improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Shift-Based Development Execution

l   Support DLT technology development in a rotating day- and night-shift environment, including development lot execution, abnormal lot response, and shift-to-shift communication.

l   Monitor assigned development devices and DLT process levels, execute approved process activities, and maintain accurate records in accordance with established procedures.

l   Provide clear and timely shift handoffs, including current lot status, process risks, open issues, containment actions, and required follow-up.

l   Support continuous development flow by identifying execution risks, coordinating priorities, and escalating barriers through established channels.

Process Issue Response and Continuous Improvement

l   Investigate and respond to DLT process issues, equipment abnormalities, and development lot holds in accordance with established safety, quality, and escalation requirements.

l   Collect, organize, analyze, and summarize data to support issue containment, technical reviews, chronic issue follow-up, and continuous improvement.

l   Escalate issues to the appropriate Process Development, Process Integration, Manufacturing, or Equipment Engineering owners with clear problem statements, relevant data, completed actions, and recommended next steps.

l   Partner with cross-functional teams to improve development cycle time, execution quality, productivity, and operational effectiveness.

DLT Technology Development Support

l   Support process setup, qualification readiness, process improvement evaluations, SPC management, redundancy tool deployment, and other approved development activities.

l   Participate in evaluations of new equipment, materials, process changes, and tool capability improvements.

l   Execute assigned learning-cycle activities in accordance with approved experiment plans, process requirements, control standards, and documentation expectations.

l   Capture and communicate execution learnings to strengthen repeatability, process visibility, and cross-shift knowledge transfer.

Data, Digital, Safety, and Compliance

l   Use standard data-analysis methods and approved digital tools to improve process visibility, issue detection, reporting efficiency, and execution effectiveness.

l   Apply AI-enabled methods where appropriate and in accordance with company requirements for responsible use, data protection, and information security.

l   Complete required technical, safety, quality, and shift-operation training and consistently follow applicable procedures and workplace requirements.

l   Maintain a strong commitment to personal safety, product quality, data integrity, operational discipline, and timely escalation.

Minimum Qualifications

l   Basic knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, equipment, or engineering operations.

l   Basic process troubleshooting, structured problem-solving, and data analysis skills.

l   Ability to extract, organize, analyze, document, and communicate data using standard formats.

l   Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

l   Effective communication, collaboration, and shift-handoff skills across multiple teams and functions.

l   Ability to follow safety, quality, workplace, and escalation requirements with discipline and sound judgment.

l   Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage assigned work and personal well-being in a shift-based environment.

l   Ability and willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, including day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

l   Experience in DLT process engineering, advanced packaging, semiconductor manufacturing, technology development, or shift-based engineering operations.

l   Familiarity with SPC, abnormal lot handling, process or tool qualification, redundancy tool deployment, or HBM-related development execution.

l   Experience working in a cross-functional development or manufacturing environment.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant semiconductor manufacturing or operations experience.

Work Schedule Expectations

This position requires participation in a rotating day- and night-shift schedule. Assigned schedules may include weekends and holidays based on business needs. The successful candidate is expected to maintain reliable attendance, provide effective shift handoffs, and comply with applicable company work-hour, rest-period, and scheduling requirements.

Shift Requirement

• Willing to work on Day/Night rotating shifts or permanent Night shift.
• 4-3 shift schedule (12-hour shifts).
• The rotation between Day and Night shifts will be approximately every 3–4 months, depending on operational requirements.
• Working hours: 07:30–19:30 (Day shift) / 19:30–07:30 (Night shift).
