Production Planner

Description

The Production Planner role is responsible for developing and communicating production schedules, organizing raw material through finished goods to fulfill customer orders and forecasts. Monitoring and closing all production orders while tracking parts in process. Monitoring and reconciling inventory of raw material and work in process on the floor. 

THE WHAT

What will you be doing?  

•  Establishes daily production manufacturing priorities for the customer demands, consistent with inventory objectives, service level goals and input from Production Management and Customer Service. Maximizing utilization of materials, machines and available manpower.
•  Manages the production schedule through the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (Epicor). Releases job, creates and prints job packets, manages production board, attends production meetings and closes all production orders (ERP completion task) at plant 1.
•  Runs shortage report daily and determine when expediting is required or appropriate. Executes prioritization changes due to customer requirement or shortage resolution.
•  Reconciles production jobs from raw material to finished goods. This includes managing production job accuracy for counts, locations, identification, and organization for raw material (RM), work in process (WIP), finished goods (FG). Will be required to work closely with production management and controller on the final job completion in Epicor.

Requirements

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business Management, Production/Manufacturing Operations, or related field OR equivalent education/experience. Manufacturing Experience Preferred
• Skills and competencies: Strong computer skills including core Microsoft Office products.  Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Epicor preferred. Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred.
