Summary of Role: 

The GlobalFoundries Field Application Engineer engages with GF customers early to assess technical needs and identify the best GF solution to drive opportunities toward design wins and tapeout. The engineer works cross-functionally with customers, account managers, product marketing, and internal technical experts to overcome adoption barriers and convert opportunities into revenue. 

Essential Responsibilities include: 

• Engage with customers to understand their technical needs for the development of semiconductor integrated-circuit products. 

• Assess the competitive landscape and advocate winning GF value propositions. 

• Partner with GF account managers, product marketing, and technical experts to create application-specific presentations showing how GF technology solutions support customer product development. 

• Work with the account management team to combine technical and commercial terms into design-winning proposals. 

• Identify and resolve issues or concerns to convert design wins into product tapeouts. 

• Advocate internally for improved features and capabilities where competitive gaps exist. 

Other Responsibilities: 

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Education – Graduating with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited degree program. 

• Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing. 

• Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) 

• Travel - Up to 20%, primarily domestic with some international travel. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Prior related internship or co-op experience. 

• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. 

• Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making. 

• Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• Strong planning & organizational skills 

• Coursework in circuit design, semiconductor device physics, or materials science 

• Experience with Microsoft Office, EDA tools, and Linux

Expected Salary Range

$55,400.00 - $90,000.00
