Position Summary

Serves as a key point of contact within the branch for customer service, relationship development, and referral opportunities in support of overall branch goals. Builds and maintains customer relationships by identifying financial needs, recommending appropriate products and services, and connecting customers with additional resources across the Bank.

This role supports deposit account servicing, consumer lending, and daily branch operations, including assisting with customer transactions as needed. Processes consumer loan applications from application through closing, including home equity products, in accordance with Bank policy and applicable requirements. Maintains current knowledge of Bank products, systems, procedures, and operational changes while demonstrating sound risk management practices.

Essential Functions

• Provide and maintain a high level of customer service during all customer interactions
• Build and maintain customer relationships by identifying financial needs and recommending appropriate Bank products and services
• Develop and manage relationships with existing and prospective customers to support customer retention and branch growth
• Process consumer loan applications from application through closing, including home equity products, in accordance with Bank policy and applicable requirements
• Promote Bank products and services and refer customers to appropriate personnel for additional financial needs
• Process retail and commercial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, and other transactions as needed
• Maintain accuracy in cash handling, balancing, and transaction processing in accordance with established procedures
• Support daily branch operations, including night drop, ATM balancing, safe deposit boxes, debit card setup, branch capture, and preparation of courier materials
• Maintain accurate and current customer contact information and account records
• Assist with administrative and operational responsibilities necessary to support efficient branch operations
• Maintain current knowledge of Bank products, services, systems, procedures, and operational changes
• Identify and manage operational and fraud risks and escalate concerns in accordance with Bank policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with Bank policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable federal and state regulations
• Maintain confidentiality and protect customer and Bank information

Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of banking, financial services, or comparable customer relationship experience
• Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and successfully transition service interactions into sales or referral opportunities
• Experience with deposit account servicing and customer transaction processing
• Ability to obtain and maintain NMLS registration
• Ability to process consumer loan applications and develop the knowledge necessary to qualify for lending authority
• Ability to open and close the branch in accordance with established procedures
• Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to take ownership of errors and resolve issues promptly
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced banking environment
• Ability to learn and effectively use banking systems and technology
• Ability to adhere to Bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal controls  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Universal Banker, Personal Banker, Customer Service Specialist, or similar banking experience
• Experience with consumer lending and home equity products
• Demonstrated experience developing and managing customer relationships
• Experience identifying sales and referral opportunities within a banking environment
• Notary Public commission
• NMLS registration
• Knowledge of retail banking products, services, operations, and regulatory requirements
