Summary 
 

The Business Systems Practitioner is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Lean Academy programs – anchored on a learn-do approach, the Lean Academy is the development engine for Business System talent in GSC. This role is responsible developing training content, teaching Business System tool training, and supporting practitioner development pathways across the organizationThis role will also be actively involved at Gemba, providing support across manufacturing operations, facilitating Kaizen events, value stream mapping, driving problem solving, and moonshine prototyping to ensure improvements are implemented effectively and sustainably. A key contributor to driving cultural changes that support a lean transformation journey enabling the organization to achieve sustainable success. 

What will you do?

  • Train, coach and mentor employees at all levels to build organizational Lean capability leveraging experiential (hands-on) learning approaches that go beyond classroom  

  • Facilitate and support Lean learning pathways to develop capability and capacity within the Global Supply Chain function (Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality) 

  • Assist with the planning, execution and sustainment of leader lean immersion programs, bootcamps, benchmark trips, and other best practice peer learning activities (seminars, conferences, etc.) 

  • Responsible for production associate training (including onboarding) of Business System fundamentals, Gemba support in core approaches (problem solving, visual daily management, standard work)  on the shop floor, on-going coaching for associates to enable strong engagement and problem-solving proficiency with production team members. 

  • Work closely with site Business System Leader to identify opportunities for training and talent development in alignment with Kaizen roadmap. 

  • Develop and maintain Business System training calendar for the site in collaboration with Business System Leader. 

  • Collaborate to develop and maintain Practitioner Funnel in Obeya. 

  • Develop and maintain Lean training content, standards, visual management systems (training and kaizen tracking, KPI reporting ,etc.) 

  • Work closely with production staff and moonshiners ensuring prototypes support safety, ergonomics, quality and Lean design intent. 

  • Facilitate and Support Kaizen events and workshops, from prework to sustainment including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Standardized Work, Lean Conversion and Pull Systems. 

  • Coach employees in structured problem solving and effective Daily Management. 

  • Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership to embed Lean principles into daily management systems. 

  • Support 3P (Production Preparation Process) activities, including concept development, layout optimization, and process simulation. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement action plans for process improvements and provide hands-on support to ensure successful execution 

What are we looking for?

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred. 

Experience 

  • 2-3 years of experience in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or industrial engineering. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge in Lean tools: VSM, Kaizen facilitation, SMED, 5S, standard work, takt time, flow, pull systems. 

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with experience using A3 or similar methodologies. 

  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and influence without authority. 

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills. 

  • Conversational English proficiency required.

  • Ability to work cooperatively across teams 

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Strategic thinker with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
