Description
Overview
Administers accounting policies & directives, maintains Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable records, prepares financial accounts, interfaces with auditors and bankers, prepares budgets and analyzes results for management, monitors purchasing and inventory systems. These functions will be performed for Centerline Logistics Corp. and all subsidiary companies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Accounting Staff
- Review critical control points PR/AR/AP
- Prepare financial statements, tax returns, etc.
- Prepare detailed variance report comparing to budgets and prior periods for management
- Implement financial systems
- Control purchasing and inventory systems
- Maintain banking relationships
- Interface with auditors
- Administer accounting policies & directives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Four year college degree in business or accounting
- Valid CPA
- 5-8 years’ experience in accounting and finance
- 3 years of increasingly responsible management experience in the maritime industry
- Experienced in fuel terminal operations and controls
- Knowledge of accounting, finance and taxation issues
- Knowledge of oil transportation and marine industry
- Ability to deal with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment
- Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications
- Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently or with no guidance
- Ability to get along with office staff and terminal employees
- Computer Skills: Word, Excel, and Accounting software
- Valid State driver’s license
- Capable of making decisions and giving directions to others within approved guidelines
Job Condition and Environment
- Required to sit for long periods of time.
- Infrequent light physical effort required.
Expected Hours of Work
- Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, however hours will need to be flexible depending on Company needs.
- May be required to travel both domestically and internationally up to one week at a time.
