Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 / hour
Description
What You'll Do
- Welcome clients and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit.
- Obtain accurate and detailed patient medical histories.
- Collect pets' vital signs and communicate findings to the veterinary team.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures.
- Safely and confidently restrain and handle dogs and cats.
- Monitor and care for hospitalized and boarding patients.
- Collect blood samples and prepare laboratory specimens.
- Perform in-house diagnostic testing, including bloodwork, fecal examinations, and urinalysis.
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist during surgical procedures.
- Monitor and assist patients during anesthesia recovery.
- Take high-quality digital (CR) radiographs and upload or email images as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist clients with general pet care questions.
- Communicate veterinary recommendations, treatment plans, and hospital protocols to clients.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and the veterinary team to ensure clear communication.
- Troubleshoot client concerns, follow through on solutions, and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment.
- Support the team with additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital or animal clinic.
- Passion for providing compassionate patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Ability to safely handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments.
- Experience collecting blood samples and assisting with diagnostic testing.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a veterinary healthcare team.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Surgical preparation and assistance.
- Anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery.
- Digital radiography (CR) experience.
- Experience caring for hospitalized patients.
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software.
