Throughout its history, Everest has maintained a disciplined focus on creating long-term value through underwriting excellence and strong risk and capital management.

At Everest, the future is shaped by the actions taken today. These actions extend beyond business strategy and encompass the values that are important to employees and the communities in which the company operates. Everest's commitments include providing an inclusive work environment that supports professional development, investing in communities through the donation of time and financial resources, maintaining integrity across all aspects of the organization, and driving innovation to help solve complex global risks.

Why Join?

Everest Insurance International Wholesale & Specialty (IW&S) is part of a global organization. IW&S consists of Everest Syndicate 2786, Everest Insurance Ireland DAC (EIID), and Everest Insurance Singapore (EIS).

This is an exciting time to join IW&S as the business continues to develop and grow its wholesale and specialty portfolio, investing in talent, systems, and capabilities under a global strategy. The Actuarial Function plays a key role in supporting and influencing the business's strategic objectives and long-term ambitions. Significant investment and collaboration across the wider Group are helping establish a best-in-class actuarial function.

The structure of IW&S provides the opportunity to make a tangible impact on both the day-to-day operations and the future direction of the actuarial department. The successful candidate will play an important role in shaping strategy, enhancing actuarial capabilities, and strengthening business partnerships across the organization.

Role Purpose

As a key member of the actuarial function, the successful candidate will support and help drive both business-as-usual activities and strategic initiatives, working collaboratively with colleagues across the actuarial team and wider business.

In addition to contributing to the ongoing development of the team's capabilities, the successful candidate will take ownership of key aspects of actuarial processes, stakeholder management, business reporting, and capital management activities. The role will also involve supporting actuarial leadership through analysis that informs key business decisions and company results.

This is a broad and varied role offering exposure to a wide network of stakeholders, multiple actuarial disciplines, project initiatives, and quarterly reporting activities. The successful candidate will enjoy a high degree of autonomy within a supportive and collaborative environment. This opportunity is well suited to someone seeking a steep learning curve, ownership of meaningful work, and the ability to make a visible impact on the business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the development and calibration of key actuarial assumptions and methodologies.
  • Assist in the reporting of actuarial results to key stakeholders, Group functions, and regulatory bodies.
  • Contribute to pricing, reserving, and capital management discussions with underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance, and reinsurance teams to support underwriting performance and business outcomes.
  • Deliver actuarial analysis that supports the business planning process and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with actuaries, claims professionals, and underwriters to share information, influence decision-making, and gain alignment on actuarial assumptions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Develop tools, reporting capabilities, and analytical outputs that leverage actuarial data to improve underwriting performance and provide meaningful insights to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Support the timely delivery and effective communication of actuarial results and recommendations.

Professional Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex modelling processes and results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations, reports, and discussions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and proactive approach, with a genuine desire to learn and develop professionally.

Competencies

  • Embrace and demonstrate Everest's Core Values: Collaboration, Thoughtful Assumption of Risk, Execution, Humility, and Leadership.
  • Uphold Everest's Core Values in all interactions with colleagues, customers, and business partners.
  • Contribute to a culture of integrity, accountability, and excellence through day-to-day responsibilities and decision-making.

Everest's success, and the success of its employees, begins with these values. All employees are expected to support and embody these principles in their interactions with others and throughout their daily work.

What if I don’t meet every requirement? At Everest we are dedicated to building an inclusive and authentic workplace. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. Please let us know if you need any accommodations throughout the application or interview process.
