Accounting Team Lead

Let’s Start with the Role

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and proactive Accounting Team Lead to lead cross-functional teams in executing high-value accounting tasks. Based in Athens, Greece, and reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting principles and experience in supporting day-to-day financial operations. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial records and contributing to the overall financial health of the company. 

As an Accounting Team Lead, you will:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the HQ;
• Analyze and evaluate monthly financial results to ensure timely and accurate reporting according to the Group policies;
• Coordinate the annual financial audit, preparing all information needed, and oversee the whole process;
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders, including tax, accounts payable and treasury teams;
• Deliver ad hoc requests and participate in special projects when requested;
• Support and optimize the existing ERP system, gathering and processing data to generate comprehensive financial reports;
• Provide leadership with timely and accurate updates on assigned tasks, financial results, and any relevant issues.;
   

What you’ll bring: 

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or other relevant field of Finance; A Master's degree in accounting or finance or ACCA/ACA qualification will be considered as a plus;
• 6+ years of combined financial reporting/accounting within a corporate international environment, with at least 1 years in a team lead or supervisory role;
• Proven experience in people management: setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and developing team members;
• Experience with formal audit processes;
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and particularly Excel;
• Good knowledge of IFRS standards;
• Previous experience in Microsoft Business Central will be considered as an asset;
• Highly analytical, detail-oriented and proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions;
• Fluency in English (both oral and written);
• Strong organizational, planning, quantitative and problem-solving skills; strategic and creative mindset;
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, evolving environment, meeting tight deadlines;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
