INTRODUCTION: This position reports to Production - Logistics Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.


WELDING SUPERVISOR – Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of all production work. Function as floor presence and supervision of production employees.


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:

a) Coordinates production based on production schedule and report the quantities and salvage to the appropriate Excel sheets and the production meeting group.

b) Coordinates the production to be within the set targets according to the efficiency reports.

c) Performs task as assigned.  

d) Keeps the shop floor clean and organized.

e) Maintain staffing as necessary and approved.

f) Verifies and report efficiency per employee based on ‘efficiency report’ and develops corrective action if operator or equipment is not capable.

g) Ensures that each employee runs his job at a maximum efficiency level.

h) Follow the regimen of continuous improvement at all welding areas.

i) Demonstrates equipment operations or work procedures to new employees or assigns employees to experienced workers for training and verifies that they follow work instruction.

j) Ensures that the quality training records for BP and WI are up to date for all employees.

k) Ensures/verifies that QS is auditing the daily production. Ability to shut down production for product and quality issues.

l) Confers with management, Human Resources and/or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints or grievances, and/or performance and performance evaluations.

m) Verifies employee attendance and records and coordinates with Human Resources for accurate timekeeping.

n) Confers with Lead-men that non-conforming materials are properly tagged, logged, and located in designated wire baskets in designated areas by the end of the shift.

o) Ensures that all safety standards and company policies are followed in their area of responsibility.

p) Develop/implement Lean Manufacturing principals. 

q) Required to effectively participate in corrective action teams in order to address the root cause in a timely manner.

r) Trouble shoots production equipment.

s) Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: 

a) Completion of MIG welding classes and/or one-year on the job experience as a production MIG welder desired.

b) Demonstrated leadership abilities and is able to delegate authority.

c) Minimum of 2 years of previous Supervisory experience.

d) Ability to take pertinent training and/or classes as related to position.

e) Ability to acquire basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

f) Completion of High School education or equivalent.

g) Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.
