Education

• Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology (SLP), graduated from an accredited Speech Language program.

Experience / Qualifications

• Current Florida Speech Pathology License
• American Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Providers

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of medically prescribed therapy services, in order to achieve maximum developmental potential, functional gains and independence. The therapist must be able to work independently and make appropriate decisions based on each patients needs.

• Provides evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of communication, swallowing and cognitive disorders resulting from illness, congenital or developmental disorders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time.  The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs., carry and lift up to 50lbs.

  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation
  • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
