How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission: MTSI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Administrator to support our team in safeguarding information systems for a government customer in Washington, DC. This individual will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows-based systems in a secure environment. This individual will also be responsible for building out cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure including the designing of cloud-native architectures targeted for AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, and high-side on-premises virtualized data centers. This role is an in-person role that is located with our government customer’s organization at WPAFB. Responsibilities: The Systems Administrator will provide specialized Information Technology and network administration. Your focus will be to provide Windows Server/Linux administration and desktop support. Solve customer issues by troubleshooting from the desk to the remote server administration. These issues will span across thin client, desktop, server, VTC, and networking topics. Work with back-end support to meet fast-paced challenges as the primary customer liaison. Interact remotely with Information Technology/Cybersecurity Teams, Program Managers, and industry subject matter experts across multiple domains (air, space, cyber) to assist the government. Qualifications Required: Working knowledge of Windows server administration 6+ years of experience administering Linux systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) Cloud experience including AWS and Azure Experience with system standup and configuration including group policy Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in systems administration Previous work supporting test or research and development environments Coordinate with program stakeholders, engineers, and other IT professionals to align system capabilities with mission objectives Provide technical expertise and recommendations for system improvements and upgrades Must have in-depth knowledge of DoD, National and applicable service and agency security policy, manuals and standards. Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners Education: Master's degree in an IT-related field Bachelor’s degree and relevant professional experience can be accepted in lieu of a master’s degree Required Certifications: CompTIA Security+ Even better if you have these desired skills: Experience as a Data Transfer Agent (DTA) Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM). Experience with configuration management, automation tools, and scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Python, Puppet, Chef) Experience with Containerization and Orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, K8S, K3S) Certifications: ISC2 CCSP; CompTIA SecurityX (CASP+), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) Clearance Requirements: Must possess an active DoD Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility). #LI-MS1 #MTSI #skyline
