The Aquatics and Athletics Facilities Division (AAFD is seeking a Snack Bar Attendant to help and assist Enterprise Golf Course with daily food and beverage operations and customer service needs. Enterprise Golf Course, located in Mitchellville, Maryland, is a well-maintained 18-hole golf course that offers an enjoyable and accessible experience for players of all skill levels. The facility features a driving range, practice putting green, and short game area, making it an ideal location for both learning and improving the game. Enterprise is also home to various player development programs, including junior golf, clinics, and lessons led by experienced instructors. Its convenient location and welcoming atmosphere make it a popular destination for local golfers and visitors seeking a quick, high-quality round of golf in a relaxed environment.

The position is responsible for providing friendly customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, handling transactions, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the snack bar area, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a positive experience for all patrons.

Customer Service
  • Greet patrons and golfers in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Take customer orders accurately and respond promptly to inquiries, concerns, and requests.
  • Provide recommendations on menu items, beverages, and merchandise.
  • Deliver outstanding service that enhances the customer and golfer experience.
Food Preparation
  • Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and customer preferences.
  • Maintain quality, freshness, portion control, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure food products are prepared safely and efficiently.
Beverage & Snack Service
  • Operate a beverage cart throughout the golf course, providing refreshments to golfers.
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including alcoholic beverages where permitted.
  • Sell and serve snacks, convenience items, and other approved merchandise.
  • Ensure prompt and efficient service while maintaining a professional appearance and attitude.
Four & Pour Operations
  • Stock merchandise and provide customer service from a stationary, climate-controlled service location.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked work area at all times.
  • Ensure exterior areas remain clean, orderly, and free of debris.
  • Communicate inventory replenishment needs to incoming shifts and management.
Cash Handling and Point-of-Sale Operations
  • Process cash, credit card, and electronic transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash registers.
  • Maintain accountability for all cash handling activities and provide correct change.
  • Balance transactions and reconcile sales at the end of each shift.
Order Fulfillment
  • Accurately prepare, package, and deliver customer orders in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are completed correctly.
  • Support dine-in, takeaway, and special event service needs.
Inventory Management
  • Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, snacks, ice, condiments, and supplies.
  • Restock products as needed to maintain availability during peak periods.
  • Communicate inventory needs to management and incoming shifts.
  • Minimize waste and support inventory control efforts.
Sales and Promotion
  • Promote special offerings, merchandise, and facility promotions.
  • Actively suggest additional items to enhance the guest experience and support revenue goals.
  • Maintain product knowledge to answer customer questions effectively.
Record Keeping
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and cash handling activities.
  • Complete shift reporting and reconciliation procedures accurately.
  • Report inventory shortages or discrepancies to management.
Cleanliness and Sanitation
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in snack bar, beverage cart, and service areas.
  • Clean countertops, equipment, utensils, storage areas, and service stations regularly.
  • Dispose of trash properly and maintain orderly workspaces.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Safety and Compliance
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and alcohol service requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for guests and employees.
  • Comply with all licensing requirements associated with beverage service.
Beverage Cart Maintenance
  • Keep beverage carts clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Ensure supplies are stored securely to prevent spoilage, damage, or spillage.
  • Report equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly.
Communication
  • Communicate effectively with golfers, guests, coworkers, and management.
  • Coordinate daily operations and address customer questions or concerns professionally.
  • Ensure smooth transitions between shifts through clear communication regarding operational and inventory needs.
Teamwork
  • Collaborate with fellow attendants, kitchen staff, golf course personnel, and management.
  • Assist team members during busy periods and special events.
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment.
Multitasking
  • Successfully manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, including:
    • Customer service
    • Food and beverage preparation
    • Payment processing
    • Inventory management
    • Cleaning and sanitation
  • Maintain attention to detail and professionalism during high-volume periods.
Tipping Policy
  • This facility operates in a tip-free environment. Employees are not permitted to accept tips or gratuities in any form, including cash, credit card, or electronic payments. If a guest offers a tip, employees must politely explain the facility's policy and thank the guest for their understanding.
Other Duties as Assigned
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities assigned by management.
  • Assist with special events, tournaments, outings, and facility operations as needed.

Preferred
  • Previous food service, hospitality, concessions, restaurant, golf course, or beverage cart experience.
  • Experience operating a POS system.
  • TIPS Certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a beverage cart safely and responsibly.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and occasional rain.
May be subject to drug and alcohol testing.

Work Environment
This position includes work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including snack bar facilities, climate-controlled service stations, and golf course beverage cart operations. Employees will frequently interact with guests and may be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shift schedules.

Work hours
This position requires a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays, to support daily golf course operations and special events. Candidates must be available to work during peak times and adjust their schedule as needed to meet the needs of the facility and its guests.

Working Conditions/Environment
This position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sun, while performing physical tasks such as lifting, walking, and operating golf carts.
