Description
Transform lives, every single day
Do you want a career that means more? At Anglicare Sydney, we bring the strength, the support and the strategy to make it happen.
We're a well-respected not-for-profit that's been serving people and communities for over 170 years. Each year, we achieve life-changing outcomes for thousands of people through practical, person-centred support.
As our Senior Group Facilitator (Financial Capability), you'll play an important role in strengthening financial capability practice across Anglicare's Financial Wellbeing & Community programs.
This is a unique opportunity to combine practice leadership with frontline community engagement. You'll coach and mentor Group Facilitators, strengthen the quality and consistency of our programs and resources, and remain directly connected to the people and communities we serve through the delivery of engaging financial capability workshops.
If you're passionate about financial wellbeing, enjoy developing others and want to influence practice while remaining connected to direct service delivery, this could be the opportunity for you.
Be welcomed into a compassionate, respectful and purpose-driven community where we don't just talk about values - we live them.
Your opportunity
As our Senior Group Facilitator (Financial Capability), you'll work closely with the Financial Capability Practice Lead to strengthen financial capability group work across multiple Anglicare regions.
You'll provide professional practice guidance, coaching and mentoring to Group Facilitators, helping create consistent, engaging and client-centred programs that respond to the needs of the communities we serve.
Importantly, this isn't a role that takes you away from frontline work. You'll continue to deliver financial capability workshops within community settings, giving you the opportunity to remain connected to participants while using your experience to influence practice more broadly.
You'll also contribute to resource development, quality assurance, reflective practice, program evaluation and service innovation, helping shape the future of financial capability programs across Anglicare.
With integrity and resilience, you will:
Lead and promote best practice in financial capability group work across Anglicare.
Provide professional practice guidance, coaching and mentoring to Group Facilitators across multiple regions.
Support facilitators to deliver consistent, engaging, strengths-based and client-centred programs.
Deliver engaging financial capability workshops and group education programs within community settings.
Support reflective practice and continuous professional development across the Financial Wellbeing team.
Contribute to the development and improvement of financial capability resources, tools and workshop materials.
Support quality assurance and continuous improvement across financial capability programs.
Analyse program outcomes, participant feedback and emerging needs to identify opportunities for service improvement.
Contribute to program evaluation and the development of evidence-informed approaches.
Build strong relationships with churches, community organisations, referral partners and internal Anglicare teams.
Support the development of partnerships that increase community awareness of and access to financial capability programs.
Share knowledge and emerging practice across teams and regions.
Represent Anglicare within the Financial Wellbeing sector and at relevant professional forums.
Contribute to service innovation and the ongoing development of Anglicare's Financial Wellbeing programs.
Champion Anglicare's Christian mission, values and commitment to delivering high-quality services.
What you'll bring
You're an experienced facilitator who understands that financial capability is about more than numbers - it's about helping people build knowledge, confidence and greater control over their financial wellbeing.
You'll bring strong facilitation skills together with the ability to coach, mentor and positively influence the practice of others.
You enjoy working collaboratively, sharing knowledge and finding new ways to make group education practical, engaging and relevant to the people participating.
You'll also be comfortable moving between practice leadership and frontline delivery - supporting colleagues one day and facilitating workshops with community participants the next.
Most importantly, you'll share Anglicare's values of Integrity, Justice, Compassion and Excellence.
You will also need:
Demonstrated experience facilitating group education, community education or capability-building programs.
A strong understanding of and passion for financial capability and financial wellbeing.
Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to support others to develop their practice.
Excellent facilitation, presentation and communication skills.

Ability to analyse participant feedback and program outcomes and translate insights into practice improvement.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work across multiple priorities, programs and locations.
Alignment with Anglicare's Christian mission and values.
Ideally, you will also have:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Education, Financial Counselling, Financial Capability or another related discipline.
Experience working within financial wellbeing, financial counselling, microfinance or community services.
Experience providing practice leadership, coaching or professional development to other practitioners.
Experience developing or reviewing group education programs and resources.
Experience contributing to quality assurance, program evaluation or continuous improvement.
Knowledge of the financial wellbeing challenges experienced by people facing financial hardship or disadvantage.
