Responsibilities
We’re seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to support mission-critical operations within our dynamic Compute Team. You’ll be part of a collaborative group developing and optimizing a massively parallel enterprise platform that drives large-scale, data-intensive analytics.
What You'll Do:
- Develop cloud-native software solutions using Java, working within a cutting-edge ecosystem of Kubernetes, Hadoop, Accumulo, and other open-source tools
- Build and support scalable, distributed systems that manage and process vast amounts of mission data
- Tackle complex technical challenges that directly impact national security efforts
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team while also having the autonomy to drive projects independently
- Learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Work with a team to automate the ATO process using the Risk Management Framework.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.
- High School/GED and 8 years in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, development, development, installation, integration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field is highly desired and will be considered equivalent to two (2) years’ experience
- A master’s degree in a technical field will be considered equivalent to four (4) years’ experience.
- One or more of the following certifications are required:
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate
- AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Elastic Certified Engineer
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microservices and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
Desired Skills:
- Experience with designing, architecting, and securing cloud resources in AWS using Terraform, automatically deploying, upgrading and maintaining them through CI/CD pipelines.
- Efficient with Gitlab and feature branching
- Fluently author, review and edit documents in Markdown
- Working knowledge of Scrum and using a ticket system to track work
- Experience with Python
- Familiarity with AWS technologies.
- Experience with Gitlab
