About the Client
A major Brazilian financial institution specializing in investment banking, wealth management, and corporate lending. The customer develops secure digital banking platforms and financial solutions to serve a diverse global client base.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and enhance backend applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Develop and maintain microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Quarkus.
- Build cloud-native, event-driven solutions leveraging AWS services.
- Design and implement distributed architectures using: Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway
- Implement observability best practices, including logging, metrics, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
- Participate in software architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
- Drive code quality, engineering best practices, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools, such as Cursor and developer copilots, to improve productivity and software quality.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams using Agile methodologies.
What You Bring
- Proven mid-to-senior level backend experience in software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Java.
- Hands-on experience developing applications with Spring Boot and Quarkus.
- Strong experience with AWS, including: Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway
- Experience designing and developing microservices.
- Strong understanding of distributed and event-driven architectures.
- Experience implementing observability practices, including logging, metrics, and tracing.
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum) environments.
- Experience using AI-powered software development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar developer assistants.
Nice to have
- Experience with reactive programming using Mutiny or Project Reactor.
- Experience within investment banking, capital markets, or financial services.
- Familiarity with the Nasdaq Calypso platform.
- Experience optimizing highly scalable, mission-critical backend systems.
English level
