At Maine Veterans' Homes, our mission is Caring for Those Who Served. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the overnight shift, you'll play an important role in keeping our residents safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the night.

What You'll Do as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Working alongside nurses and other members of the care team, you'll provide hands-on care and monitor the well-being of residents throughout the overnight hours.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing personal care, including toileting, repositioning, grooming, and other resident needs
- Assisting residents with safe transfers, repositioning, and mobility
- Making regular rounds and monitoring residents for safety and comfort
- Responding promptly to resident needs and call lights
- Observing residents and reporting changes in condition to the nursing team
- Supporting restful nighttime routines while respecting each resident's preferences and dignity
- Assisting with incontinence care and other overnight needs
- Documenting care and observations accurately in the electronic medical record
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
- Following infection prevention, safety, and confidentiality standards
- Working collaboratively with the overnight nursing team
What We're Looking For
The right candidate is dependable, attentive, and compassionate, with a genuine commitment to providing excellent resident care.
Qualifications include:
- Active certification on the Maine CNA Registry in good standing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer proficiency
- Sound judgment and commitment to resident confidentiality
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
Your Overnight Schedule
11:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available
- Most schedules include every other weekend
- Night shift differential may apply
