Job Title: Warehouse Logistics Control Supervisor

Nature of Work:
|
|
This position manages, plans, and directs the operations of the distribution activities of USDA foods to recipient agencies. The employee is responsible for logistics of the food distribution warehouse.
|
|
Examples of Work:
|
- Works with Logistic+ Control Officer to schedule and communicate delivery times and dates to meet customer needs.
- Oversees warehouse staff to prepare inventory for loading and delivery.
- Provides ongoing direction and communication of routing and delivery schedules with truck drivers.
- Supervises warehouse staff including review and approval of time in UKG.
- Trains new warehouse staff on equipment operation, safety, inventory and operational expectations.
- Evaluates employees’ job performance and conformance to regulations.
- Provides employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems.
- Maintains records pertaining to warehouse personnel, supplies, or machine maintenance.
- Maintains delivery schedules on the computer network system for historical purposes.
- Updates delivery schedules and posts on computer systems.
- Conducts periodic audits of loads being prepared to be loaded onto trucks to leave the warehouse; certify that the load is complete and accurate.
- Works with Program Manager on USDA NSLP and CACFP ordering processes.
- Leads with conducting physical inventory counts.
- Enters all incoming loads of product into USDA WBSCM platform.
- Assists Program Manager in conducting commodity and process surveys and communicating with the county schools and agencies on survey listings.
- Works with Program Manager and Logistics Control Officer to ensure the timely delivery and distribution of USDA DOD fresh produce.
- Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
|
|
Normal warehouse environment; Sitting, bending, stooping, stretching, manual dexterity, visual acuity, lifting up to 60 pounds. Required to perform tasks of short duration in coolers and freezers. Occasional overnight travel required.
|

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
|
- Knowledge of good warehouse and product distribution practices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn other computer programs as needed.
- Knowledge of West Virginia geographical locations.
- Ability to effectively manage people.
- Ability to work independently while managing their time and the time of others.
- Ability to work under stringent deadlines.
- Ability to effectively address and resolve customer complaints.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
|
Education:
|
High School diploma or the equivalent.
|
|
Experience:
|
Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing routine office work. Experience in supervision and/or warehouse management preferred.
|
|
|
|
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment drug testing.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment law enforcement background investigation, including DMV records.
- Must maintain a positive image of the Commissioner, West Virginia Department of Agriculture.
