Alium Women's Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Float Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with patients, providing high-quality care, and contributing to our holistic approach to women's health. Under direct supervision, the Float Medical Assistant will support the medical team by assisting with patient care, health education, and various administrative tasks while providing coverage at multiple clinic locations as needed.
Essential Job Functions
Patient Care: Assist nurses and providers with patient treatment, follow-up, and health education as required. Observe and report any significant changes in patients' condition.
Medical Procedures: Perform general medical office procedures, including the use of medical equipment and supplies. Administer specific healthcare activities under supervisory instruction.
Health Education: Provide health education to patients, families, and community health practitioners as guided by medical providers.
Safety and Infection Control: Practice safety, environmental, and infection control methods established by OSHA and AZDHS.
Team Participation: Actively participate in staff meetings, assist with problem identification and solution implementation, and foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Administrative Support: Assist with medical administrative tasks and ensure proper documentation in patient care charts.
Float Coverage Responsibilities: Provide coverage and support at both the Mesa and Shea clinic locations based on operational needs, staffing requirements, and patient care demands. Travel between locations may be required on a regular or as-needed basis. Employees must maintain reliable transportation and the ability to report to either clinic location as scheduled.

Compensation
The standard Medical Assistant pay rate is $21.00 per hour. Employees hired into the Float Medical Assistant position will receive an additional $1.00 per hour float differential, bringing the total compensation to $22.00 per hour in recognition of the flexibility and travel requirements associated with supporting multiple clinic locations.
Requirements
Required Education
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with at least two (2) years of experience in an ambulatory care setting or hospital. Current State Certification and CPR certification required. Certified Phlebotomy preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of patient care charts and histories.
- Familiarity with maternal mental health and diabetes is preferred but not required.
- Understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse community.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and general ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Attention to detail and adherence to Alium Health policies and procedures.
- Ability to adapt quickly to varying clinic workflows and support multiple providers and teams.
