Description
The Teacher Assistant provides direct support to students and helps monitor and manage student behavior in both classroom and non-classroom settings. This role may involve working one-on-one with students, supervising during transitions, and stepping in when the teacher is out of the room. This position is 30 hours/week.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual or small-group assistance to students under the direction of the teacher.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times.
- Support classroom management by monitoring student behavior and engagement.
- Step in to maintain classroom structure if the teacher is temporarily out of the room.
- Uphold and reinforce school rules and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed to support student learning and well-being.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience (preferably 2+ years) working with children.
