Job Description
Join our team as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, where you will execute and lead advanced security assessments for client information systems. In this role, you will apply deep technical expertise to guide clients through FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST RMF requirements. You will lead technical discussions, mentor team members, and support secure cloud architecture and risk mitigation activities, with a primary focus on FedRAMP. Whether you hold a degree or equivalent practical experience, you will work independently or as part of a client delivery team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & Compliance Leadership
Lead and execute comprehensive security assessments by analyzing cybersecurity documentation, performing evidence collection, and conducting interviews to evaluate compliance with FISMA, NIST RMF, and FedRAMP standards
Guide cross-functional teams and lead compliance discussions, demonstrating expert understanding of security frameworks, architectures, and control requirements
Author clear, accurate, and original assessment reports, attestations, and customer-facing compliance documentation
Technical Security & Vulnerability Management
Perform system and network vulnerability scanning and analysis using automated and manual techniques with tools such as Nessus, ACAS, DB Protect, WebInspect, NMAP, and DISA STIGs/STIG Viewer
Identify, validate, and apply vulnerability remediations, fix procedures, and risk mitigation strategies for client environments
Apply deep technical knowledge in security engineering, secure architecture design, authentication protocols, applied cryptography, and application security
Client Engagement & Mentorship
Engage directly with client stakeholders through clear communication to conduct interviews, lead technical assessment discussions, and provide expert guidance
Mentor team members and support secure cloud architecture design and risk mitigation activities
Inform customers of cybersecurity concerns and clearly explain how compliance across various standards and frameworks is achieved
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years equivalent experience.
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
Job Requirements:
Technical Expertise
Security Engineering Knowledge to evaluate secure architecture design, system and network security, authentication protocols, applied cryptography, and application security
Framework Mastery demonstrating expert knowledge of Cloud Computing, FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST/DoD RMF, and NIST SP 800-series publications
Tool Proficiency using testing and assessment tools such as Nessus/ACAS, SCC, DISA STIGs/STIG Viewer, NMAP, and Acunetix
Advanced Industry Certification required holding at least one of the following: CISA, CISM, or an advanced equivalent in accordance with A2LA R311
English Communication to effectively deliver technical guidance and articulate complex compliance standards verbally and in writing
Professional Experience
Documentation & Reporting to author original assessment reports, attestations, and technical compliance documentation
Team Collaboration to operate self-motivated and independently or collaboratively within a remote, fast-paced team environment
Travel Flexibility to travel up to 25% as required for various client engagements
This position must have at least one industry certification from the following list:

Preferred Qualifications
To qualify as a senior level, the applicant must also hold a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification in addition to the certification listed above
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
Selected Candidate will perform FedRAMP 20x Assessments so familiarity with the requirements is encouraged
Experience leading or managing complex information security projects
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Successful completion of the FedRAMP Baltimore Cyber Range
Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as it relates to Information Security and Information Assurance
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers
Target Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 USD
