MPO Specialist A

Role Purpose:

The MPO Specialist A will plan and execute the purchasing of raw materials and merchandise to ensure the right quantity and quality are available at the right time and at the most effective cost..., when production and project demand requires a reliable flow of materials, while maintaining healthy inventory levels and minimizing supply disruptions.

When supply challenges or changing business requirements arise, the role will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders across the organization to secure material availability, resolve issues, and implement effective purchasing solutions—including supporting remote purchasing activities across P+F locations and building strong, reliable supplier relationships.

Main Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute material purchasing by converting planning requirements into Purchase Orders (POs) and Distribution Orders (DOs), ensuring materials are ordered in the right quantity and at the right time to support short- and long-term production requirements;
• Manage supplier relationships and performance, following up on order confirmations, monitoring delivery, quantity, quality, reliability, and other KPIs, and collaborating with Purchasing to address escalations and improvement actions;
• Maintain material availability and inventory efficiency by monitoring stock levels, delivery schedules, shelf-life and solderability requirements, and proactively taking action to prevent shortages, excess inventory, obsolescence, and scrap;
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve material-related issues, including quality concerns, demand changes, engineering changes, alternative materials, and delivery disruptions, minimizing impact on production and customers;
• Execute sourcing and commercial activities within approved supplier frameworks, including RFQs, premium purchase or transportation justifications, and follow-up on supplier claims related to price, quantity, and quality discrepancies;
• Ensure accurate planning and purchasing data by maintaining ERP and planning system parameters, following defined processes and best practices, and ensuring purchasing activities comply with contractual, internal, and applicable regulatory requirements;
• Monitor and communicate operational performance by preparing weekly/monthly KPIs and reports, participating in SFM activities, proactively escalating risks, and driving appropriate actions to maintain supply continuity and operational targets;

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor's or higher Degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in material purchasing, procurement, or material planning within a structured manufacturing environment;
• Good command of English communication with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, including remote/global teams. German or Mandarin language skills are an advantage;
• Good understanding of purchasing and material planning processes, including PO management, supplier coordination, inventory control, delivery follow-up, RFQ activities, and supply risk management;
• Good computer and Microsoft Office skills, with experience using ERP/planning systems. Knowledge of specific commodities, particularly electronic components is an advantage;
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to balance material availability, inventory, cost, quality, and delivery requirements, identify supply risks, and take timely corrective actions;
