Overview

The Compliance Data Analyst - Europe - supports the European compliance organization by turning data from business systems and operational processes into reliable reporting, meaningful analysis and practical recommendations. The position combines curiosity about how data is created with the discipline to check definitions, quality, completeness and limitations before drawing conclusions.

The role is broad by design. The analyst may work with performance, process, customer, shipment, documentation or compliance data. A basic understanding of freight forwarding, customs and international logistics helps the analyst interpret the data and ask the right questions

Responsibilities

The role works closely with European Compliance, Customs, Operations, Branch Management, Sales, IT, Finance and other business stakeholders across the EU. The analyst is expected to understand the business question, explain what the data does and does not show, and translate analysis into a clear message that non-technical stakeholders can use.

 

1. Data analysis and reporting

Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches, defining scope, data requirements, assumptions and expected outputs before starting the analysis.

 

2. Data quality and information management

Apply practical data-quality checks and help define standards for completeness, consistency, accuracy, timeliness and traceability.

 

3. Business and compliance insight

Use a working understanding of logistics, freight forwarding and customs to interpret operational data and recognize when a result may not reflect the underlying process.

 

4. Digital tools and continuous improvement

Use appropriate tools such as Excel, Power Query, Power BI, SharePoint or other approved data and workflow tools to improve analysis and reporting.

 

5. Stakeholder support and projects 

Provide clear, timely support to European stakeholders who need help interpreting data, reports or analytical findings related to compliance.

 

Qualifications

• HBO / Bachelor level in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, Economics, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business or a comparable field; or equivalent practical experience.
• MBO-4 with relevant experience in data, reporting, administration, operations or logistics may be suitable when combined with a clear willingness to develop further.
• Formal training in data visualization, reporting, Excel, Power BI or a related discipline is an advantage. 
• Affinity with logistics, freight forwarding, customs or compliance processes, and an interest in how operational data is generated and used.
• Experience with Cargo Wise or another transport, customs or operational business system.
• Experience with Power BI, Power Query, SQL, data visualization, workflow automation or comparable tools.
• Fluent oral and written English is a must
• Additional (major) European languages would be an asset
• VGB screening is part of the process
