The Role
Shaw Contract is growing in Illinois and hiring an Account Executive to lead business development and sales across the Northern and Northwestern IL markets. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives on building relationships, generating new business, teamwork, and managing a territory with a high degree of autonomy. You’ll work with flooring contractors, end users, and industry partners to deliver flooring solutions from initial opportunity through project completion while building a strong, consistent pipeline of new business.
What You’ll Do
- Drive new business through prospecting, networking, and lead follow-up
- Build and maintain relationships with flooring contractors, end users, and key stakeholders
- Manage projects from opportunity through order, delivery, and installation
- Travel daily within the territory to develop and grow accounts
- Utilize Salesforce CRM and structured sales processes (SPPM) to manage pipeline and opportunities
- Represent Shaw Contract in the local market through meetings and industry events
What It Takes to Succeed
- Proven ability to prospect, build pipeline, and close new business
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently & on a team within the territory
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills within the IL Shaw Contract team and with customers
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3+ years sales experience, preferably with experience in the education segment
- Demonstrated success in new business development, including prospecting, pipeline creation, and securing new accounts to expand territory presence.
- Living in Chicagoland, Northern IL, or Northwestern IL
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree
Commercial interiors sales experience
