Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking an Academic Assessment Coordinator supporting the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) within the Office of Curricular Affairs. This position provides specialized expertise in assessment design, measurement, and implementation to support the program-level evaluation of student learning across the UNR Med curriculum.

The Coordinator works closely with faculty and staff to support the development, administration, and analysis of formative and summative assessments. This role supports a faculty-driven culture of assessment by providing consultation, technical support, and faculty development related to assessment tools and practices. The position also contributes directly to continuous quality improvement, accreditation compliance, and institutional reporting through accurate analysis and interpretation of assessment data.

This position requires a high level of analytical judgment, collaboration, and discretion in handling confidential student and program data and reports to the Director of Assessment in the Office of Curricular Affairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer exam management systems, including exam creation, delivery, scoring, and reporting (e.g., ExamSoft, NBME, UWorld)

  • Work with Course and Content Directors to ensure assessment integrity and alignment with course objectives, session content, and curriculum standards

  • Coordinate exam logistics, including scheduling, student communication, and accommodations

  • Analyze student and program data to support evaluation, reporting, and accreditation

  • Collaborate with faculty to develop assessment tools and interpret results

  • Provide faculty development and consultation on assessment practices

  • Train and coordinate exam proctors and ensure exam security compliance

  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain the assessment calendar

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related experience OR

Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related experience

Related experience In education assessment, assessment design, administration of educational assessments, or analysis of online assessment instruments or related experience.

Schedule

This position may require a variable schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, or travel for which schedule flexibility will be provided.

Compensation Grade

Administrative Faculty – B

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
