Your Opportunity
This role provides expert practice advice and leadership to a team of Case Manager practitioners working with families towards Intensive Family Support program objectives. These include enabling vulnerable children, young people and their families to make sustainable increases in safety, wellbeing and belonging and to minimize the likelihood of a family from entering the statutory child protection system. Support is also provided to the Program Manager to deliver high quality and contractually compliant services.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide expert practice advice, coaching and supervision to a team of Case Managers.
- Assist the Program Manager with the allocation and management of caseloads.
- Respond to referrals in line with Intensive Family Support policies and procedures.
- Support practitioners to deliver safe, high-quality and compliant services.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve outcomes for families.
- Engage directly with families in their homes and community settings to overcome barriers to participation.
- Deliver brief therapeutic interventions and practice support where required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, service quality and positive team culture
Requirements for Success
- A degree qualification in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working with families facing complex challenges, including mental health concerns, disability, domestic and family violence, and child protection issues.
- Strong knowledge of Child Protection and Domestic and Family Violence legislation.
- An understanding of the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, including the impacts of intergenerational trauma.
- Experience providing supervision, coaching and practice leadership to frontline practitioners.
- The ability to apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches and early intervention principles.
- Sound crisis management skills, including an understanding of vicarious trauma and self-care strategies.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build collaborative partnerships that achieve positive outcomes for families
