Role Summary

The Senior Solutions Consultant is a trusted technical advisor responsible for driving the pre-sales strategy and technical validation of PTC's CAD and PLM solutions. Working closely with Sales, Product, Partners, and Customer Success teams, this individual helps customers solve complex engineering and product development challenges through digital transformation initiatives.

This role combines deep technical expertise in CAD and PLM environments with strong customer engagement and presentation skills. The Senior Solutions Consultant will lead discovery sessions, solution demonstrations, technical evaluations, and proof-of-concepts while helping customers understand the business value of PTC's solutions.

Success in this role requires strong knowledge of engineering and product development processes, the ability to translate customer requirements into solution recommendations, and the confidence to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for CAD and PLM sales opportunities.
• Partner with Account Managers to develop technical sales strategies and support pipeline growth.
• Conduct customer discovery workshops to understand business challenges, product development processes, and digital transformation objectives.
• Deliver compelling demonstrations of CAD and PLM solutions tailored to customer requirements.
• Lead technical evaluations, benchmarks, proof-of-concepts, and solution validations.
• Support responses to RFPs, RFIs, and technical proposals.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers throughout the buying cycle.
• Provide guidance on CAD, PLM, Digital Thread, engineering collaboration, and product development best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Management and R&D to share customer feedback and market requirements.
• Support partner enablement activities and joint customer engagements.
• Participate in industry events, customer meetings, and workshops to represent PTC's technical expertise.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the Solutions Consulting organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience working with CAD and PLM solutions in a pre-sales, consulting, engineering, or implementation capacity.
• Strong knowledge of product development and engineering processes.
• Experience with enterprise CAD platforms such as Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Inventor, or similar solutions.
• Experience with PLM platforms such as Windchill, Teamcenter, ENOVIA, Aras, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of engineering change management, configuration management, BOM management, and product lifecycle processes.
• Experience leading software demonstrations, technical workshops, and customer presentations.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to engage both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20-30%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Digital Thread and Digital Engineering initiatives.
• Understanding of ERP, MES, ALM, IoT, or Manufacturing solutions and integrations.
• Experience within Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing, Electronics, or Medical Device industries.
• Familiarity with SaaS and cloud-based engineering platforms.
• Previous experience supporting enterprise software sales cycles and strategic accounts.
