Description
The Senior Global HSE Advisor serves as a senior technical resource and recognized subject matter expert supporting Veriforce’s global contractor management, health, safety, sustainability, and risk management initiatives. Working closely with the Vice President, Global HSE & Sustainability, this position helps drive industry engagement, thought leadership, Strategic Advisory Board (SAB) initiatives, product innovation, and the development of scalable contractor management solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance related to contractor management systems, contractor qualification programs, supplier risk management, and health, safety, and sustainability performance.
- Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of contractor management frameworks and client programs.
- Monitor emerging regulations, standards, guidance documents, and industry trends relevant to contractor management, occupational health and safety, sustainability, environmental performance, and supply chain risk.
- Research and evaluate regulatory and industry developments to determine impacts on Veriforce products, services, and customer programs.
- Support development of client-facing methodologies, assessment tools, implementation frameworks, and technical guidance documents.
- Assist clients in identifying risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities through application of industry standards and best practices.
- Support development and maintenance of Veriforce’s contractor management solutions, technical content, and service offerings.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Global Parent Questionnaire (GPQ), jurisdictional frameworks, contractor qualification criteria, and associated technical content.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Client Success, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements, business rules, workflows, and content requirements.
- Translate industry learnings, customer feedback, regulatory developments, and market trends into recommendations for product enhancements and service innovation.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market benchmarking activities to identify opportunities for differentiation and continuous improvement.
- Monitor developments amongst other contractor management, supply chain, and risk management providers to identify market trends, opportunities, and emerging risks.
- Represent Veriforce at industry conferences, trade associations, standards committees, professional organizations, and stakeholder forums.
- Deliver presentations, webinars, workshops, and educational sessions on contractor management, health and safety, sustainability, risk management, and emerging industry topics.
- Participate in standards development organizations, industry committees, working groups, and professional associations as assigned.
- Participate in standards organizations, industry associations, and professional forums to support Veriforce's industry leadership and strategic objectives.
- Support development, coordination, and expansion of Veriforce’s Strategic Advisory Board initiatives and regional engagement activities.
- Contribute to white papers, articles, research reports, conference abstracts, webinars, podcasts, and other thought leadership content.
- Capture and communicate industry intelligence and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to support strategic planning, product development, and service delivery improvements.
- Support strategic client pursuits, proposals, RFP responses, executive briefings, and customer engagements requiring technical expertise.
- Participate in customer workshops, demonstrations, and executive discussions as a subject matter expert.
- Assist Sales, Marketing, Product, and Client Success teams in communicating Veriforce’s value proposition and differentiators.
- Collaborate with global teams to improve service delivery consistency, scalability, operational effectiveness, and customer outcomes.
- Reports directly to the Vice President, Global HSE & Sustainability.
- Individual contributor role responsible for influencing cross-functional teams through technical expertise, collaboration, and thought leadership.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Risk Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in health and safety, contractor management, operational risk management, sustainability, consulting, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting multinational organizations and geographically dispersed stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones preferred.
- Experience supporting organizations operating across multiple regulatory jurisdictions, including European Union directives and country-specific occupational health and safety requirements, is highly desirable.
- Experience with domestic and international business travel, conferences, customer engagements, and industry events preferred.
- Demonstrated experience presenting at conferences, facilitating workshops, conducting client engagements, or delivering technical training.
- Experience participating in industry associations, standards committees, advisory boards, or professional organizations preferred.
- Professional fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional proficiency in a second language is highly desirable. Spanish and French are particularly valued, although additional languages relevant to Veriforce’s global operations are beneficial.
- Strong understanding of contractor management principles, contractor qualification processes, and contractor risk management practices.
- Working knowledge of health and safety management systems, sustainability frameworks, and risk management methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, research, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, verbal, facilitation, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Strong relationship-building, networking, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to effectively operate within a globally distributed organization and collaborate across cultures, time zones, and business functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Experience utilizing contractor management, compliance, risk management, learning management, or enterprise software platforms.
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled research, content development, analysis, and productivity tools is desirable.
- NEBOSH, CMIOSH, CSP, ASP, CRSP, CHMM, SMS, ISO 45001 Auditor, or equivalent professional certifications are preferred.
- Regional and international travel up to 30%, including customer engagements, conferences, industry association meetings, Strategic Advisory Board activities, and internal business meetings.
- Ability to travel independently and effectively manage work responsibilities while supporting business activities across multiple regions.
- Valid passport and ability to meet international travel requirements required.
